Bryce Amos
Bryce Amos, EdS, is superintendent of the Carlisle Community School District in Iowa. He has been an educator for more than 20 years, also serving as executive director, principal, and teacher. His leadership experiences, spanning from leading one of the largest middle schools in Houston, Texas, to leading a suburban district in Iowa, have provided a unique context for his leadership philosophy.
Throughout his career, and at every level, Bryce has successfully developed and led professional learning communities that have impacted student and adult learning. As Pershing Middle School’s principal, Bruce led the school to four state distinctions for academic and attendance performance. As Des Moines Public Schools’ executive director of secondary schools, Bryce developed and implemented early-indicator systems, resulting in increased graduation rates at all district high schools.
Under his leadership, Carlisle CSD became a Solution Tree Model PLC District in 2018. The district’s success has generated opportunities for Bryce to share Carlisle’s success story at both national and state levels. He understands the challenges educational leaders face and knows which strategies are necessary to develop and sustain learning communities.
Bryce earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Northern Iowa, a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Houston, and an educational specialist degree from Drake University in Iowa.
