Returning to Learn: Mathematics at Work™ Unit Planning Virtual Workshop: A Live 2-Day event with Timothy D. Kanold & Sarah Schuhl
This workshop supports school districts and teacher teams in adjusting mathematics unit plans for the 2020–2021 school year.
Despite heroic efforts by educators last spring, much of the mathematics learning scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter was lost. During this new, virtual workshop, educators will learn how to proactively address mathematics learning gaps by revising existing mathematics unit plans.
With expert support from Timothy D. Kanold and Sarah Schuhl, leadership and teacher teams will explore a research-affirmed process for identifying previous grade-level standards not yet learned and embedding them into unit plans as the 2020–2021 school year unfolds. Participants will receive real-time guidance for current mathematics units, as well as for units being taught over the next 2 to 4 months.
- Participate in two one-day sessions, led by certified Mathematics in a PLC at Work® coaches.
- Build mathematics unit plans, calendars, assessments, and interventions that maximize student effort and proficiency.
- Understand how to fully support students who lack prior knowledge needed.
Recommended for:
School and district leadership, math instructional coaches, teacher teams, and mathematics task force groups who have a baseline understanding of the PLC process and are committed to closing gaps in student learning.
