High-Impact Coaching: Giving Every Teacher the Coach They Deserve Workshop
EVENT COMPLETED

During a time of high-stakes accountability and teacher shortages, it is more important than ever to have structures in place that assist and value the work of every teacher.

Developed for instructional coaches, teacher leaders, and school and district administrators, this interactive workshop illustrates how to effectively coach collaborative teams in a professional learning community (PLC). Participants will explore a tiered instructional coaching model designed to foster collaboration and empower teachers to lead and coach one another.

Participants are encouraged to attend as a team. Facilitated team time will be provided each day to support action planning.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Define the role of coaches in a PLC
  • Determine the difference between coaching teams and individuals
  • Apply practical coaching strategies to develop and support team leaders in a PLC
  • Create an instructional leadership team structure to support and coach teams
  • Develop specific support systems for struggling teams and teachers
  • Identify next steps in building and sustaining an effective coaching model to support teams
  • Participate in collaborative team and one-on-one coaching conversations to encourage reflective thinking
  • Explore ways to use peer-to-peer coaching and co-teaching models
  • Establish a multiyear new teacher support plan
