Jana Claxton

Jana Claxton currently serves as the executive director of curriculum and instruction at Irving ISD in Irving, Texas. Her zeal lies in implementing high-impact instructional strategies, fostering clarity within collaborative teams, and championing student-centered learning approaches. With over 19 years of dedicated service in education, Jana boasts a diverse portfolio, having held roles ranging from professional learning coordinator to strategic design coach, and from RTI facilitator to classroom teacher.

Jana has had a leading role in the district wide redesign of learning community structures, frameworks, and practices in large districts. She has participated in the work of district-level guiding coalitions and coordinated the efforts of multi-year districtwide PLC growth plans that have led to Model PLC at Work® schools.

Jana earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of North Texas and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University.
