Given the complexity of today’s educational landscape, it might feel as if we have to choose between assessing our students or supporting their social-emotional wellness. However, when we assess with intention and care, and use the results to support intellectual needs while also attending to social and emotional needs, we don’t have to choose! Assessment done well can support the holistic health of students and provide teachers with what they need to make strong instructional decisions. This is good for everyone.

Join Katie White and:

  • Explore the holistic needs of students (and their teachers)
  • Clarify the purposes of assessment and how it can be used to nurture intellectual, social, and emotional health
  • Gain practical strategies for shifting assessment contexts so that students gain confidence, agency, and clarity
