Woodsen Plummer

Woodsen Plummer is a K–12 English language arts coordinator at DeKalb County School District, an urban district outside of Atlanta, Georgia. With over 15 years of experience, Woodsen specializes in supporting implementation of literacy best practices at all school levels, as well as leadership development to support the cultivation of school culture.

During his years in education, Woodsen has served as a high school English teacher, an instructional coach, and an academic data coach. As a districtwide content coordinator, he provides training for foundational reading instruction and the Science of Reading, leads interdisciplinary curriculum writing, and facilitates professional learning to support ELA best practices. In his role, he also provides guidance to K–12 leaders with instructional leadership, culture development, and effective learning solutions.

Woodsen is a member of, and has provided professional learning through, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), and the Georgia Council of Teachers of English (GCTE) in the areas of literacy and instructional leadership.

Woodsen earned his bachelor’s degree in education with an emphasis on English from Southern University and A&M College. From Capella University he earned a master’s degree and an educational specialist degree, both of which are in leadership and educational administration.
