Guide student thinking and writing with AI — Get started

In this two-day symposium, a Solution Tree expert will lead K–6 educators through a process using their T.E.A.M.S framework that makes high levels of learning for all literacy scholars not only possible, but probable and practical.

Literacy educators will explore how to provide equitable literacy instruction and assessment so every student masters essential standards. Teachers will navigate the teaching and learning of reading through the lens of the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work® process, learn strategies for utilizing data as collaborative teams to answer the four critical questions of learning, and access templates and protocols to improve literacy for all.

This workshop will help K–6 district leaders, administrators, teachers, instructional coaches, reading specialists and interventionists:

  • Analyze and improve their current literacy practices, curriculum, and instructional focus within the context of a PLC at Work
  • Explore structures and systems to organize the work of literacy teams
  • Learn how to identify and prioritize essential literacy outcomes
  • Deconstruct essential literacy standards to develop a path for literacy proficiency
  • Create or curate common formative team literacy assessments for learning targets
  • Structure a supportive master schedule to include team collaboration and systemwide response
  • Understand the components of a comprehensive literacy instructional block
  • Create progress-monitoring tools and focused reading interventions and extensions

Event Reviews

“This was AMAZING! I am inspired and have so many actionable items to take back to use with my teams. This training shifted my whole thinking on the PLC process.”

Nicky Martin, Epiphany School

“As a teacher, I thrive when there is structure. The SIG is a powerful tool I plan to utilize with the help of our building leadership team to help make our PLCs more effective and meaningful. A personal goal I have set for myself is to utilize the framework for coaching collaborative teams: clarify, feedback, and support. These are areas where I greatly need to hone my skills.”

Angela Massie, teacher, Swaney Elementary

“I learned ways to assess our current PLC process as well as incremental steps to continually improve the process.”

Joanne Campbell, Burleson ISD

“The tools we received, such as the SIG and Pathways . . . are going to be so helpful going forward!”

Megan Ritchie, Glenwood Elementary, Lake Stevens School District
