Amy Clark is the principal of Lamar Elementary in Midland, Texas. She is an experienced district and school administrator who is committed to exceptional instructional leadership. She is passionate about school improvement, believing this is accomplished through a strong collaborative team and an unwavering commitment to learning for all.
Under Amy’s leadership, Lamar Elementary became an academically acceptable campus after four years of being “Improvement Required” by the Texas Education Agency. Through the implementation of the PLC at Work® process, Lamar has shown dramatic and sustained growth over time. In the spring of 2020, Lamar was recognized as a Model PLC School through Solution Tree. Lamar Elementary is one of only 35 schools in Texas to earn this distinction.
In addition to being a Model PLC school, Lamar Elementary was recognized for its positive culture and climate by being named a 2019–2020 Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School. Lamar was also selected to pilot the Capturing Kids’ Hearts leadership curriculum. Lamar is now a Leadership Academy within Midland Independent School District.
Before her work at Lamar, Amy served on several school and district turnaround teams, leading campuses and districts to receive multiple academic distinctions from the state. In 2012, she received the Texas Association of Parents and Educators of the Deaf Administrator of the Year Service Award.
Amy has a bachelor of science in interdisciplinary studies from Texas A&M University and a master of educational administration from Sam Houston State University.
