Brandi Johnson

Brandi Johnson is the reading academies and PK compliance coordinator at Pasadena Independent School District in Texas. She works with administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers to support the development of school improvement plans in instructional planning, assessment, analysis, and intervention. During her tenure in education, Brandi has worked primarily with Title 1 schools, including as a teacher, instructional coach, intervention specialist, and school improvement coordinator.

Brandi has spent more than a decade of her career at the forefront of education leadership, making a significant impact on schools across her district. In her current role, Brandi collaborates with campuses in need of improvement. Her efforts have led to the successful transformation of schools’ planning and implementation of the PLC at Work® process. In her previous role, she was instrumental in leading Pasadena ISD toward full implementation of intervention structures and support for all students across 68 campuses.

Brandi has received several recognitions, including teacher of the year for the 2013–2014 school year and the Together We Can Award during the 2008–2009 school year. The Together We Can Award goes to educators whose colleagues recognize them as team members who strive to collectively achieve more in an effort to support all students.

Brandi earned a bachelor’s degree in management from Park University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University. She holds specialized certificates in English as a second language, special education, and the science of teaching reading.
