Christie Shealy

Christie Shealy, EdD, is the director of student services in Anderson School District One in South Carolina. She has worked with the district’s math, English language, mental health, testing, and accountability programs. Dr. Shealy has served in many capacities within the field of mathematics, and she specializes in developing and sustaining professional learning communities (PLC) at various levels.

Dr. Shealy was designated as a GSA Business Report Woman of Distinction for her work in developing a comprehensive approach to serving the mental and physical needs of families and students within Anderson School District One, and she has written articles that have been published in AllThingsPLC Magazine and by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA). Her doctorate studies focused on the PLC process to provide job-embedded professional learning for classroom teachers. Dr. Shealy is a proud member of professional organizations such as Alpha Delta Kappa’s International Honorary Organization for Women Educators, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Association of Federal Education Programs, the South Carolina Association of School Administrators, and the South Carolina Association of Title I Administrators. She was recognized by Solution Tree in 2024 with a Standard of Excellence Award.

Starting her career as a high school math teacher, Dr. Shealy earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education mathematics, her master’s degree in curriculum (focusing on mathematics), and an education specialist degree in administration and supervision from Clemson University. She then transferred into the role of instructional coach at the high school level and ultimately worked her way up to the district level. Later, she earned her doctorate in education improvement science from Clemson University.
