John Jorgensen

John Jorgensen is the former principal and director of learning and collaboration for the Clinton Community School District. His leadership was instrumental in ensuring that the PLC process and RTI support systems were introduced, implemented, and sustained at all schools in his district.

To make sure PLC and RTI processes were ingrained into the culture of every school, John worked closely with building principals and teacher leaders. The ongoing goal was for every child at every school to be surrounded by a caring team of professionals who were committed to helping students perform at high levels. The collaborative processes within PLC and RTI structures, supported by ongoing professional development, data collection, and a deep belief that all students can learn at high levels, led to unprecedented student achievement and teacher efficacy in his district.

District awards and honors received during John’s leadership include: National Blue Ribbon School, Model RTI at Work™ High School, Model PLC Elementary School, Model PLC District, and DA magazine’s District of Distinction for RTI work.

Jorgensen received his master’s and educational specialist degrees from Western Illinois University. Before becoming a principal and central office administrator, John graduated from Wartburg College with a degree in music education and taught at both the elementary and middle school levels.
