Kaylie Bufano

Kaylie Bufano is the instructional coach at Hiawatha Elementary School in Essex Junction, Vermont. Prior to this position, she served as a devoted and adored kindergarten teacher for 15 years. Kaylie has a passion for the successful implementation of professional learning communities (PLCs) and setting up effective schoolwide multitiered systems of support. Because of Kaylie’s many years as a classroom teacher, she has a deep understanding and experience with the reality of the “teacher's life.” This understanding allows her to easily connect and inspire teacher teams to keep moving along the PLC at Work® journey.

Whether it’s curriculum mapping, essential standard unpacking, identifying Tier 2 needs, analyzing the effectiveness of interventions, or even working directly with guiding coalition teams to tackle essential actions Kaylie has the knowledge to guide your staff toward the fulfillment of your school’s vision.

Kaylie was the kindergarten guiding coalition leader in 2022 when Hiawatha Elementary became recognized as a Model PLC at Work school. Hiawatha was the second school in the entire state of Vermont to accomplish this recognition, and Kaylie played a pivotal role in the school's culture transformation.

Kaylie earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in elementary mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
