Mary Damer is a lecturer in the special education department at The Ohio State University and a consultant who works with school districts to increase reading achievement through an intensive multitiered model based on preventing reading failure.

A former teacher, principal, and behavior consultant, Mary is coauthor of Managing Unmanageable Students: Practical Solutions for Administrators and Teaching Reading to Students Who Are at Risk or Have Disabilities: A Multitier Approach.

For four years she was the field director for Project PRIDE, an Office of Special Education Programs (USDE)-funded multitier reading project in three high-poverty urban schools.
