Lauren Johnson

Lauren Johnson is a secondary mathematics teacher and curriculum coordinator for Fullerton Joint Union High School District in Orange County, California. As a classroom teacher, Lauren implements the standards with student-driven instruction to ensure high-quality educational experiences for every student. By cultivating rigorous and conceptually based experiences for students, she knows they will continue to build confidence in their mathematical abilities and achieve success.

Lauren has taught in many settings, from early-childhood education to adult education, as an adjunct professor and secondary mathematics instructional coach. She has also served as a school technology instructional lead and on school leadership teams.

Lauren has presented and participated as a conference committee member for state and national conferences, including the NCTM annual conference; on supporting secondary students in making sense of mathematics using visuals; and NCSM on moving large districts in instruction. She is a DNA Mathematics associate, an MRWC trainer, a Desmos Fellow, and a Google Certified Trainer.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from California State University, Fullerton, and a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
