Casey R. Ahner

Casey R. Ahner has more than 22 years’ experience in education. He has served as a special education teacher, counselor, assistant principal, and principal at the intermediate and elementary levels. He was also a district-level administrator. While at the district level, he was the director of secondary programs, as well as the director of instructional support for Los Lunas Schools in New Mexico.

Casey led the staff at Tomé Elementary in refining their professional learning community (PLC) practices from 2013 to 2018. In 2017, they achieved status as a Model PLC School. Tomé was the first school to achieve the recognition of Model PLC School and being certified using the Marzano High Reliability Framework. The school also implemented an RTI process that ensured a student-by-student, skill-by-skill response.

Casey earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary and special education, as well as a master of arts degree in counseling from the University of New Mexico. He completed coursework in educational leadership at the University of Texas at Arlington.
