Josh Huwig
Josh Huwig currently serves as an elementary school principal with over 10 years of administrative experience. He has served as a high school teacher, dean of students, assistant principal, and elementary school principal.

Josh Huwig is a dedicated educator and principal with a passion for students and teachers. He has been principal at Newton Yost Elementary school for six years. Before that, he served as an assistant principal at Chesterton High School. Prior to his administrative career, Josh was a dean of students and taught at Lake Central High School as well as Attica Jr./Sr. High School.
Josh is very proud of Newton Yost Elementary School receiving Model PLC at Work® status in 2023. Newton Yost prides itself on building a collaborative atmosphere and a results-driven environment continually working toward improvement. Josh is a member of ASCD, Indiana Association of School Principals, and is an Indiana School Safety Specialist. He received his school superintendent’s license through his work at Ball State University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Indiana University, and his undergraduate degree from Purdue University. His expertise ranges from school Culture, Tier II and Tier III interventions, MTSS, and assessment; his presentations focus on PLC at Work.
