Kevin Strahley

Kevin Strahley is the principal of Windsor Central Middle School. He was named the New York State Principal of the Year in 2018 and has more than 30 years experience in education as a teacher, coach, co-curricular adviser, building-level administrator, college instructor, and educational consultant.

As principal of Windsor Central Middle School for more than a decade, Kevin led his school to become the first in New York State to be designated a Model PLC at Work® school. Kevin has focused on fostering a positive culture of continuous improvement and building systems that ensure high levels of learning for all. For his work in sustaining the school’s professional learning community, he was awarded the Secondary Administrator of the Year by Region 9 of the School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS) in 2017. He was subsequently named New York State Middle School Principal of the Year by SAANYS and the New York State Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals in 2018.

Kevin has been a longtime co-chair of a regional Middle School Principal Center, also serving on its executive committee, as well as serving as co-chair of a regional Principals Academy. Additionally, he has presented on numerous occasions, most notably delivering a keynote address at the New York State Middle School Association’s fall 2019 Conference Awards Banquet.

Kevin Strahley attended Binghamton University where he majored in history before earning a master’s degree in teaching secondary social studies. He later earned a Certificate of Advanced Study in school district administration from State University of New York at Cortland. He was also a member of the inaugural cohort of the Southern Tier Leadership Academy, and he completed the New York State Superintendent Development Program through SUNY Oswego.
