Paul M. White

Paul M. White, PhD, is the superintendent of New Prairie United School Corporation in Northern Indiana. Previously, he served as a secondary-level special education teacher, social studies teacher, middle school principal, high school principal, coach, part-time bus driver, and curriculum director.

Dr. White focuses on implementing professional learning communities (PLC) to ensure student learning and a culture of continuous improvement. The school system he serves, New Prairie United Schools, earned Model PLC at Work® status in 2023. New Prairie’s highest-poverty school, Rolling Prairie Elementary, earned National Blue Ribbon status in 2023 as well.

Dr. White also served as a secondary-level principal in Indiana for nine years, earning a reputation for improving school academic performance with a focus on literacy development. He is an adjunct professor at Bethel University in Mishawaka, Indiana, and serves as a mentor to aspiring superintendents and new superintendents for the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents.

Dr. White earned his bachelor's degree in special education and social studies and a master's in school administration from Indiana University. He also holds an educational specialist degree and a doctorate in educational leadership from Indiana State University. His dissertation on literacy instruction in high-performing secondary schools in Indiana led to a lifelong focus on collaborative practices and the implementation of the PLC process.
