Kara Tidemann
Kara Tidemann is an experienced educator with over 25 years of proven commitment to exceptional instructional leadership. She is passionate about effective implementation of professional learning communities at both the building and district level and believes this is accomplished through a strong collaborative team, building successful systems, and an unwavering commitment to learning for all. Over the course of Kara’s career, she has served as a classroom teacher, district curriculum and instruction coordinator, co-lead for district wide strategic planning focused on establishing and sustaining PLCs, assistant principal, and principal.
Before becoming a Solution Tree Associate, Kara was the principal of Northeast Elementary in Parker, Colorado. As a building leader, she successfully led an underperforming school to high performance—earning Model PLC at Work® school status and the John Irwin award from the State of Colorado for demonstration of exceptional academic achievement over time. Kara is an innovative leader in educational improvement and organizational and systems thinking. Her collaborative approach to school improvement, professional development, and educator quality maximizes learning opportunities for students and educators alike.
Kara was awarded the Great-West Great Teachers award as a classroom teacher. She also received the Douglas County Schools Rising Star award in recognition for outstanding innovation and creativity to support students.
Kara holds a bachelor's degree in communications for MidAmerican Nazarene University, a master's degree in communications from Wichita State University, certification in elementary education from the University of Colorado, and leadership principal certification from Lamar University.
