Peter Sanchioni

Dr. Sanchioni serves as the superintendent of the Tiverton Public Schools in Tiverton, Rhode Island. He has a wide array of educational experiences including serving as the superintendent in Natick, Massachusetts (10 years) and in Millis, Massachusetts (three years). In addition, Dr. Sanchioni served as a principal for 10 years.

Peter Sanchioni

Dr. Sanchioni serves as the superintendent of the Tiverton Public Schools in Tiverton, Rhode Island. He has a wide array of educational experiences including serving as the superintendent in Natick, Massachusetts (10 years) and in Millis, Massachusetts (three years). In addition, Dr. Sanchioni served as a principal for 10 years. During his time as superintendent he initiated a 1:1 program for all grades. The use of technology combined with a strong commitment to teacher development through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) propelled the districts he served to higher levels of student achievement.

In recognition of his work, Dr. Sanchioni has consistently been rated exemplary by his school boards. Importantly, one district he worked in was recognized as a Model PLC District. In 2014, MassCue recognized Dr. Sanchioni as their administrator of the year. Twice Apple recognized Dr. Sanchioni with their award for Innovation, Leadership, and Education Excellence. In addition, Dr. Sanchioni served as co-chair of the Digital Learning Advisory Council for the Massachusetts Department of Education and currently serves as chair of the board for TECCA, Massachusetts’ premier virtual school. Lastly, Dr. Sanchioni serves as an adjunct professor at the University of New England, Boston University and Rhode Island College teaching in their principal preparation programs.

Dr. Sanchioni holds a doctorate and bachelor’s degree from Boston College and a master’s degree from Bridgewater University.
