Amanda Ziaer is the managing director of curriculum and instruction in Frisco, Texas. Frisco ISD is a suburban district north of Dallas, serving more than 57,000 students at more than sixty schools. The entire district is focused on the work of growing and developing professional learning communities (PLCs).

Previously, she served as principal of Coppell Middle School-North, where she led the school in achieving Model PLC status in spring 2017. Her background includes teaching high school CTE elective classes, as well as serving as an assistant principal.

Amanda is passionate about spreading the work of PLCs and empowering others with the tools needed to dive deeper into their PLC journey. She helps build capacity in teacher leaders and emphasizes the importance of aligning instruction, assessment, and interventions with the standards to ensure success for all kids.

She was selected as a member of the Texas Principal Visioning Institute for her innovative work in leading and learning. Her campus was also chosen as a School That Transforms Learning, thanks to the school staff’s continued work as a PLC.

Amanda earned a master’s degree in education leadership.
