Brigette Golmen

Brigette Golmen, EdD, is the executive director of curriculum, instruction, and assessment, for Nixa Public Schools in southwest Missouri. A dedicated instructional leader with over 20 years in education, she has served as a classroom teacher, elementary principal, and district leader. Dr. Golmen specializes in systems-level thinking and implementation of professional learning communities (PLC), multitiered systems of supports (MTSS), and strategic continuous improvement practices that transform culture and raise student achievement.

Dr. Golmen led Helen Mathews Elementary to achieve recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2023 and helped the district and school achieve Model PLC at Work® status. Her leadership has focused on designing sustainable systems that ensure guaranteed and viable curriculum, embed meaningful data practices, and integrate academic and social-emotional supports for all learners. Dr. Golmen also collaboratively developed a district’s first program for students requiring high emotional and behavioral support and partnered with universities to create innovative teacher mentorship pipelines.

Dr. Golmen currently leads the design and implementation of districtwide professional learning systems aligned to high-impact instructional practices and continuous improvement. In her role as executive director, she oversees curriculum development, assessment practices, and federal programs with a focus on ensuring equity and excellence for all learners. She has developed strategic professional development pathways for teachers and leaders across the district, including embedded coaching, PLC support, and MTSS implementation. Dr. Golmen continues to build district capacity by facilitating collaborative learning structures, fostering shared leadership, and aligning professional growth to instructional priorities.

Dr. Golmen earned her doctorate in educational leadership, her education specialist degree in administration–superintendency, and her master’s degree in educational administration from Southwest Baptist University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education (grades 1–6) from Missouri State University.
