Greg Kushnir

Greg Kushnir is a full-time educational consultant working with schools and districts to develop Professional Learning Communities. An educator for more than 30 years, he is a former high school and middle school teacher, middle school assistant principal, and K–6 principal.

All three schools Greg has led (Terrace Heights Elementary School, Ellerslie Campus, and Esther Starkman) are recognized as model professional learning communities due to their dramatic improvements in student achievement.

Since 2005, Greg has worked with superintendents, principals, and teachers throughout North America to provide professional development in support of their improvement efforts. He is an expert in applying theory and research into practical strategies that help ensure learning for all students.

Greg has been nominated for educational excellence in the province of Alberta four times, and in 2010, he received an Alberta ASCD Award for Innovative Practice. In 2014, Greg was nominated for the Learning Partnerships Award of Excellence as one of Canada’s outstanding principals.

Greg earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Alberta.
