Janel Ross

With over 25 years of experience in elementary education, including five years in early learning, Janel Ross specializes in the implementation of professional learning communities and multitiered systems of supports at the elementary level. Janel has been a paraprofessional educator, successful teacher, team leader, building learning coordinator, assistant principal and principal.

Janel Ross is the current principal of Mountain Meadow Elementary School, a Model Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work® school in the White River School District. Before moving to Mountain Meadow, she led the opening of the White River Early Learning Center where the school received Model PLC at Work status in its fourth year. Janel specializes in implementing the PLC at Work process, building a shared vision through a guiding coalition, developing a culture of collaboration, and the alignment of district, school, and team goals.

Janel was on staff in 2007 when White River began their PLC journey. She led and demonstrated successful PLC teacher teams and guided teams as an administrator. She received her bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University, her masters from Lesley University and her administrative credentials from Gonzaga University.
