Lee Wright, EdD, has been an educator for over 25 years in various roles as a teacher/coach, principal, and district executive leader in Tomball, Texas. He is currently the assistant superintendent for strategic innovation in Tomball ISD.

Lee Wright, EdD, has been an educator for over 25 years in various roles as a teacher/coach, principal, and district executive leader in Tomball, Texas. He is currently the assistant superintendent for strategic innovation in Tomball ISD, leading districtwide professional learning, aligning district initiatives, and advancing student learning outcomes. He has led the districtwide Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work® initiatives since 2019. During that time, Solution Tree recognized 13 Model PLC at Work schools in Tomball ISD, and the district was named a Model PLC at Work district in 2023.
Dr. Wright earned accolades as a teacher and principal over his more than 25 years in education. He was named the District Teacher of the Year in 2006 and District Principal of the Year in 2017. He has been nominated as an HEB Excellence in Education Award Principal of the Year in 2018, and he was recognized as the TESA Administrator of the Year in 2019. As principal, Dr. Wright opened Oakcrest Intermediate School in 2015. Oakcrest has been a Model PLC at Work school since 2020 and a Great Expectations Model school since 2017.
Dr. Wright is a member of TASA and AASA and has been a presenter at the TASA Midwinter Conference. He serves on the Great Expectations board of directors, the Great Expectations strategic task force, and is a member of the Solution Tree Evidence of Effectiveness committee to review Model PLC at Work applications. Dr. Wright is a member of Leadership North Houston, Class XXIX, and participated in the N2 Learning Executive Leadership Institute in 2021–2022.
Dr. Wright earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Texas A&M University in 1997, his master’s degree in administration from Sam Houston State University in 2008, and his doctorate in educational leadership from Sam Houston State University in 2015.
