Maren Powers is an award-winning teacher, instructional coach and author. Because of her experience as a practitioner, she has learned how to do the work successfully. Maren is passionate about helping other educators implement, coach, and lead through the PLC process.

Maren Powers

Maren Powers is the instructional coach at Washington Fields Intermediate School, a Model Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work® School in St. George, Utah. She was integral in the opening and implementation of the PLC process and school culture at WFIS. Her focus as a teacher-leader and then coach helped WFIS gain Model PLC at Work status after its third year open. Throughout her time in the Washington County School District, she has worked at two Model PLC at Work schools. Because of her experience as a teacher and instructional coach, she has learned how to do the work successfully. Maren is passionate about helping other educators implement, coach, and lead through the PLC process.

In 2020, Maren received the Rebecca Dufour Scholarship that celebrates ten women educators across the country who demonstrate exceptional leadership in their school community. She has presented at numerous national conferences and has worked with teams across the country. Maren is also the coauthor of the Solution Tree book, Simplifying the Journey.

Maren earned a bachelor’s degree in English education from Utah Tech University and a master’s degree in educational leadership with an endorsement in school leadership from Southern Utah University.
