Nina Parrish has more than 18 years of experience working as a special education teacher, education center director, speaker, and educational presenter. She is the cofounder and chief academic officer of Parrish Learning Zone in Virginia.

Nina Parrish

Nina Parrish has more than 18 years of experience working as a special education teacher, education center director, speaker, and educational presenter. She is the cofounder and chief academic officer of Parrish Learning Zone in Virginia. She enjoys working with students to tackle obstacles in school and renew their excitement for learning. Nina has worked in both urban and suburban schools and, in her current position, works in collaboration with public school teachers at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Nina writes a blog called The Learning Zone and has contributed numerous articles to national and international publications. She loves having the opportunity to coach educators on how to effectively implement research-based instructional practices in order to meet the needs of diverse learners. She conducts professional development and has spoken at national events and educational conferences. Because of her work at Parrish Learning Zone, Nina has received the Top Ten of the Next Generation of Business Leaders Award from her local chamber of commerce. She was also selected for the Virginia School Board Association’s Business Honor Roll and as the Spotsylvania County Public Schools Business Partner of the Year.

Nina earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Mary Washington and a master’s degree in education for school counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also received the Project PISCES scholarship to attend North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she completed her teaching certification in special education.
