Tina Merriweather Seymour

Tina (Merriweather) Seymour is a veteran principal and leadership coach with 21 years of experience in urban education. She began her educational career in 1998, as a middle school language arts teacher at Speedway Junior High School in Speedway, Indiana. She served on a faculty that contributed to the school’s designation as an Indiana Four Star School.

For seven years, Tina was the principal of Northview Middle School in Indianapolis. Under her leadership, Northview became an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme World School and a nationally recognized “School to Watch,” an award given to exemplars in educating adolescents through the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform.

Her experience also includes serving as an assistant principal at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, the largest and most comprehensive grade 10–12 high school in the state.

Tina teaches as an adjunct professor at Butler University’s master’s program for school administration, the Experiential Program for Preparing School Principals (EPPSP), through Butler’s College of Education. She is also a facilitator for the Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP) leadership academy, the Indiana New Administrator Leadership Institute (INALI).

Tina earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Indianapolis and a master’s degree in educational administration from Butler University.
