Peg Grafwallner

Peg Grafwallner is an instructional coach and reading specialist at Ronald Reagan College Preparatory High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Peg has over 25 years of experience in the field of education; she began her career as an English teacher at a private high school, became an alternative education teacher in a suburban district, and now supports teachers in seamlessly embedding literacy without disrupting their classroom objectives.

In her current role, Peg models, coaches, and assists teachers in creating comprehensive literacy lessons meant to enhance skill-building. As the parent of a gifted-and-talented son and a special education daughter, she offers a unique educational lens that focuses on supporting students of all abilities in realizing their potential in the classroom and beyond.

Peg is a blogger, author, and national presenter whose topics include coaching, engagement, and inclusion. Her articles have appeared in ASCD Express, ASCD Inservice, EdWeek’s Classroom Q and A with Larry Ferlazzo, Edutopia, NCTE Village, The Missouri Reader, and the Illinois Reading Journal, among many others. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Reading Association, the Wisconsin Council of Teachers of English, the National Council of Teachers of English, and ASCD.

Peg received a bachelor’s degree in English from Cardinal Stritch University and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, a mentoring certification, and an alternative education certification from Marian College. In addition, she earned a specialist certification from UW-Milwaukee.
