Tiered Intervention: An Integrated Approach to Teaching and Learning

Schools should not delay in providing help for struggling students until they fall far enough behind to qualify for special education, but instead should provide timely, targeted, and systematic interventions to all students who demonstrate the need. A multitiered system of support (MTSS) is the best way to intervene when students struggle to learn. Solution Tree’s Response to Intervention (RTI at Work™) unpacks the MTSS process and provides the research, implementation strategies, and tools to ensure every student has access to equitable and high-quality education through tiered intervention.

“Response to Intervention is a school wide, systematic, collaborative process in which all school resources are seamlessly integrated and singularly focused on the same outcome – to ensure that every student learns at high levels.” -Taking Action
