Sue Pippen

Sue Pippen, a consultant, has more than 40 years of experience teaching at the K–12 and college levels. Specializing in mathematics, she provides training on the PLC at Work™ process and CCSS.

Sue retired from Hinsdale South High School, where she spent 13 years as Mathematics Department chair, teaching and supervising 15 teachers. She was previously a K–12 computer and math coordinator and grades 2–12 mathematics teacher. Sue also taught at Lake Land College. After retiring from Hinsdale, she taught at North Central College and National Louis University.

She is a past president of the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics and a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics. Sue was instrumental in the creation of the Illinois Assessment Frameworks and Mathematics Descriptors and the 1997 Illinois Mathematics Standards. She has also worked with the Assessment Division of the Illinois State Board of Education. Sue received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Honorable Mentions from the Presidential Awards program.

Sue holds a bachelor of science in education and an MST in mathematics from the University of Missouri, as well as a Type 10 Supervisory Certificate.
