Paul Goldberg, EdD, is the superintendent at East Prairie School District in Skokie, Illinois. Under his leadership, the district achieved its highest student learning results, surpassing pre-pandemic levels as a result of implementing professional learning communities (PLC) and response to intervention (RTI) strategies. The district is now recognized as a top 10 K–8 school in Illinois by Niche, a Model PLC at Work® district, and one of the best elementary and middle schools in the country by U.S. News & World Report. While the low-income population doubled in under ten years, the district earned an exemplary rating from the Illinois State Board of Education in 2025, the state's highest rating.

Previously, as assistant superintendent, Dr. Goldberg guided the largest K–8 district in Illinois to Model PLC at Work® status. In this role, he championed districtwide PLC initiatives, emphasizing both student learning and holistic child development through a positive and high-functioning learning community.

Dr. Goldberg's earlier career included serving as principal of John Muir Literacy Academy and Robert Frost Junior High School. He has a proven track record of leading diverse, low-income schools to exceptional success. In 2014, he was nominated for Principal of the Year for North Cook County, Illinois.

As principal of John Muir, a Title I school, Dr. Goldberg was instrumental in elevating the school from the lowest to the highest math and literacy growth scores among 28 schools in the district. At Robert Frost Junior High School, he led the school in moving from the federal watch list to become one of only two public secondary schools in Illinois to receive a 2011 National Blue Ribbon Award.

Dr. Goldberg holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, a master’s degree from National Louis University, and a superintendent’s endorsement and doctorate from Loyola University Chicago.
