Jeffry Overlie

Jeffry Overlie an International Baccalaureate (IB) coordinator for Fridley Public Schools in Minnesota. In addition to providing leadership for the implementation of this program, he is responsible for curriculum development, standard articulation, and providing professional development at the elementary level. Jeff also works as an adjunct professor of education at Bethel University.

Prior to his position as IB coordinator, Jeff was an instructional leader at Fridley High School where he coached teachers on implementing best practices for teaching and assessments, assisted them in writing and carrying out individual growth plans, and triangulated student achievement data for writing and evaluating building goals. In addition, Jeffry provided professional development opportunities for staff and led workshops on the use of standardized test data, assessment strategies, curriculum design, and standard articulation.

One of Jeff’s primary focus areas is helping teachers improve assessment practices.  He is a strong advocate and expert in implementing assessment for learning in the classroom, and he works to help teachers achieve a balanced assessment system and get students involved in the assessment process. A sought-after professional development expert, Jeffry has developed a comprehensive formative assessment training program for classroom teachers.

Jeff has a bachelor of arts and a master of arts in education.
