Jessica Edwards

Jessica Edwards is an instructional support specialist for the Professional Learning and Innovation Center at Broome-Tioga Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) in upstate New York. Prior to her current role, she was a special education teacher for eight years, teaching in a variety of grade levels and settings. In addition to her role as an educator, Jessica has served as her district’s elementary special education team leader and her building’s teacher technology leader.

Jessica specializes in fostering collaborative environments in which general education and special education teachers can work together to promote high levels of learning and growth for all students. She leads and collaborates with teachers and teams to develop strategies, lessons, and student engagement opportunities that build on the strengths of each individual team member. Jessica strives to create learning environments in which all teachers and students feel heard, included, and accepted.

As a presenter, Jessica has shared her collaborative approaches across the country. She emphasizes the importance of all team members playing an integral role in the planning, development, and implementation of educational experiences for all students. Additionally, Jessica holds a strong belief that all students can learn at high levels, and supports districts in ensuring that high levels of learning happen for all their students-including those with disabilities.

Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree in human development from Binghamton University, where she also went on to receive her master’s degree in childhood, early childhood, and special education.
