Kim Nichols, EdD, is former assistant superintendent in Ringgold, Georgia. Under her leadership, Catoosa County Schools was named the first Model PLC District in Georgia and twelve schools have become Model PLCs.

Kim Nichols

Kim Nichols, EdD, is former assistant superintendent in Ringgold, Georgia. Her experience spans more than 39 years and includes serving as an elementary teacher, elementary assistant principal and principal, curriculum director, and assistant superintendent in charge of school improvement and system finances.

Over a three-year period, Kim provided the support and leadership for Catoosa County Schools to become the first Model PLC District in Georgia and for 12 schools to become Model PLC Schools. Her expertise includes leadership for changing school and district cultures, implementing PLC practices within schools and across a school district, and redesigning structures to align with the RTI at Work™ process. Kim coauthored the article, “Staying True to PLC’s in a COVID-19 World,” which can be found in the Spring 2021 issue of AllThingsPLC Magazine.

Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and elementary education from the University of Hawaii, a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Tennessee.
