Lyndsi Smith, PhD, has served the education community for over 20 years in a variety of capacities. Throughout her career, Dr. Smith has delivered professional learning workshops, provided in-classroom instructional support, and presented at local, state, and national conferences.

Lyndsi Smith, PhD, has served the education community for over 20 years in a variety of capacities. Throughout her career, Dr. Smith has delivered professional learning workshops, provided in-classroom instructional support, and presented at local, state, and national conferences. She taught elementary school, served as a school and district instructional coach, and assistant principal. She currently serves as a principal at an elementary school in Indiana.
Dr. Smith is versed in a number of areas but particularly enjoys speaking on literacy and leadership. She is a passionate literacy advocate and has served as president of the Indiana State Literacy Association, hosting a statewide conference during her tenure on the board. Through this organization, Dr. Smith was inducted into the Reading Hall of Fame for Indiana for her service with the state and local literacy associations.
As an instructional leader, Dr. Smith developed a passion for supporting educators, focusing her doctoral study and dissertation on administrator supports for retaining high-quality teachers. As a principal, she is committed to supporting both students’ and educators’ social and emotional well-being. Dr. Smith champions the work of professional learning communities and high-quality instructional strategies that enhance student engagement.
Dr. Smith earned her graduate degree in early childhood education from Olivet Nazarene University. She pursued her master’s degree in education at Indiana Wesleyan University—this was followed up by maintaining an administrator license through the principal licensure program, also through Indiana Wesleyan University. Dr. Smith attended Indiana State University for her doctorate in educational leadership and Superintendent License.
