Marisol Thayre

Marisol Thayre is a teacher at Health Sciences High and Middle College in California. She teaches American literature and expository writing to upper division students of varying abilities and levels.

Marisol has participated in countywide grants focused on technology integration and best practices and helped lead districtwide trainings for other high school English teachers. She has also presented on close reading, student collaboration, gradual release of responsibility, and using assessments.

Marisol earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in English (with an emphasis on rhetoric and composition) from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She is a credentialed English teacher in California and Leading Edge–certified in technology and blended learning.
