Miriam Plotinsky

Miriam Plotinsky is an instructional specialist with Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland, where she has taught and led for 25 years. Her areas of expertise include student-centered learning, cross-content literacy, and school improvement. She is widely recognized for providing practical, immediately applicable professional learning for teachers and school administrators.

Miriam contributes to publications such as Education Week, ASCD, Edutopia, KQED/MindShift, Middleweb, and Education World. She is also a regular guest on international education podcasts and a frequent speaker at professional conferences.

Miriam earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education and English from the University of Maryland at College Park and a master’s degree in education policy analysis from The George Washington University. She also holds a preK–12 education administrator certification from Hood College, and is a National Board Certified Teacher.
