Amber Gareri

Amber Gareri is an instructional specialist at Pasadena Independent School District, a Model PLC at Work® district in Texas. Amber currently works with district and campus administration, instructional coaches, and teachers in the successful implementation of personalized learning in a PLC at Work. With more than 28 years of experience, she taught at the middle, intermediate, and high school levels, and she served as a new-teacher mentor, district-level instructional coach, and curriculum and instructional specialist.

As an instructional leader, Amber has been instrumental in the successful implementation and consistent execution of the PLC process in her district. This includes collaboration with district content specialists in the development of a guaranteed, viable curriculum and assessment system, as well as working with district stakeholders to provide support and training of effective small group intervention.

In her work with instructional coaches across the district, Amber has helped teams develop collective commitments and facilitated support through professional development and coaching utilizing the continuous improvement cycle. She has modeled and mentored campus collaborative teams in purposeful planning using the four critical questions while using data-driven discussions to support teams in setting action steps to improve results. Through her work with instructional coaches, Amber strives to build capacity and collective efficacy with the teachers in her district.

Amber earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
