Anne Franklin

Dr. Anne Franklin has lived the work of a Professional Learning Community throughout her entire career as a teacher, principal, and district leader in both public and private schools. As principal, Dr, Franklin led her PK-8 building to becoming a Model PLC, as well as the integration of RTI practices and a balanced assessment system. In her current role as Director of Professional Learning for the Diocese of Des Moines, Anne supports 16 schools across rural, suburban, and urban settings. She coaches teams and leaders on PLC development, RTI implementation, and assessment practices with a focus on vertical and interdisciplinary teams.

She has also presented and won qualitative and quantitative awards from the Iowa Education Research and Evaluation Association. Her publications focus on standards-based grading at the secondary level.

Anne serves on the International Advisory Council for Drake University where she has earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education, master’s degree in education leadership, and doctorate in education leadership. Her dissertation focused on the connection between standards-based grading and growth mindset development in middle schools.
