Barbara Coleman is principal of Canyon Pointe Elementary School in Tomball, Texas. With more than 40 years of experience, she has served as a general education teacher, grant facilitator, assistant principal, and principal. A consultant and presenter, she mentors aspiring administrators at the school and district levels and has facilitated several federal grants supporting student achievement through varied learning opportunities for students of a diverse population.
Barbara was named Tomball Independent School District Principal of the Year and awarded several academic grants. Under her leadership, Canyon Pointe Elementary has been recognized as a Model PLC and has received the Great Expectations® Model School distinction.
Barbara earned an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Indiana State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Sam Houston State University. She also attended the Rice Executive Education Program and earned a business fellowship from Rice University.
