Brian Benevides

Brian Benevides is the principal at Glenmoor Elementary in Fremont, California. With more than 25 years of experience as an educator—from preschool to middle school to district leadership committees—he specializes in establishing and advocating for the development of professional learning communities (PLC) and strong leadership teams.

Brian began leading Glenmoor Elementary in 2011, where he guided his team in implementing PLC concepts and establishing structures to ensure time and support for all students so they can achieve high levels wherever they are on the academic spectrum. He believes that all means all when it comes to creating a thriving environment for students to grow academically and socially. In 2019, Glenmoor achieved Model PLC at Work® status, and today the Glenmoor Elementary community continues to find ways to improve student achievement. Brian has been recognized with a national Parent Teacher Association award and The Golden Oak for outstanding service to children through an after-school enrichment opportunity program called Glenmoor U.

Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and early childhood development and a teaching credential from California State University, Hayward; he has a master’s degree in curriculum development and an administrative credential from California State University, East Bay.
