Carmen Emery is a consultant and principal of a K–6 dual immersion school in California. Previously, she was a classroom teacher and data systems project specialist. Carmen specializes in English learners, dual language immersion, and principal leadership. She led one school to receive the California Distinguished Award and another to serve as a Dual Language Immersion Red Carpet Tour School.
She is a member of the National Association for Bilingual Education, California Association for Bilingual Education, and Council for Exceptional Children. Carmen has served on teams for the evaluation of effective schools nationwide, including the National Center for Urban School Transformation.
Carmen received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego and a master’s degree in education and administration certification from San Diego State University.
