Chad Roland, EdD, is the assistant to the superintendent at Kiski Area School District in Western Pennsylvania. The collaborative efforts at Kiski Area High School earned recognition as a Model PLC at Work® school in 2017, a distinction successfully reestablished in 2023.

Chad Roland is the assistant to the superintendent at Kiski Area School District in Western Pennsylvania. Previous to this role, Dr. Roland spent 15 years as the high school principal in the same district. With more than 23 years of educational experience, he focuses on building systems and programming in schools that support collaborative environments for both student and adult learning.
Having led his high school through a professional learning community (PLC) journey that resulted in a highly collaborative environment, Dr. Roland’s school expects all students to learn at the highest levels possible. The school concentrated on reducing barriers for students with disabilities and restructuring the high school schedule to better support all learners. Consequently, the collaborative efforts at Kiski Area High School earned recognition as a Model PLC at Work® school in 2017, a distinction successfully reestablished in 2023.
Dr. Roland holds a bachelor’s degree in education/physics from Duquesne University, a master’s degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh, and a doctorate in education, with a focus on special education, from Slippery Rock University.
