Christy McAloney

Christy McAloney is mathematics Common Core lead teacher for Grossmont Union High School District in California. Her primary focus is leading teachers through the implementation of PLCs and the Common Core curriculum. She is also Math Department chair and a teacher at Monte Vista High School.

Her professional foundation for strong leadership has been defined through her roles as the district task force leader, department chair, new teacher mentor, PLC leader, Home Choice instructor, cofounder of the Advisory Period (which helps underperforming students reach their full potential), and classroom teacher for 19 years.

Christy has presented for the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics and consulted with schools across Southern California.

She holds a bachelor of mathematics from California State University, Fullerton and a master of science in instructional leadership from National University.
