Jill Kind

Dr. Jill Kind is the director of learning and achievement for Osseo Area Schools in a diverse suburb of Minneapolis. She has served as a social studies teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum coordinator, and her areas of focus are curriculum, assessment and standards-based instruction, and grading at the secondary or system levels.

As a member of Learning Forward since 2008, Dr. Kind was recently awarded the Sybil Yastrow Scholarship, which is provided to district leaders to attend the Learning Forward Academy. She also served as president of the Minnesota Affiliate of Learning Forward from 2022–2024. Also, during her time as an instructional coach, she published an article in the Journal of Staff Development titled “United We Learn.” The article focused on developing a schoolwide professional learning plan.

Dr. Kind received her undergraduate degree in secondary social studies education from DePaul University. She also holds a master's degree in principal licensure and a certificate in professional learning from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Additionally, she earned a doctorate from St. Cloud State University. The title of her dissertation was Teachers' Experiences with Professional Development and Its Impact on Instructional Practice.
