JoAnna McIlroy has worked in education for over 25 years in her home country of New Zealand and internationally. A passionate educator, JoAnna has taught across elementary grade levels and has been a guidance counselor and a school leader.

JoAnna McIlroy has worked in education for over 25 years in her home country of New Zealand and internationally in Indonesia, China, Thailand, and Singapore. A passionate educator, JoAnna has taught across elementary grade levels and has been a guidance counselor and a school leader.
She currently serves as a deputy principal in the elementary school at Singapore American School. In her current role, she works in the early learning center alongside an inspiring team engaged in an intensive and ongoing philosophical and pedagogical change process.
Motivated by transformational change, JoAnna is particularly interested in strengths-based leadership and collaborative processes to facilitate intentional and ongoing change management. She adores working with young learners and is particularly inspired by the foundational beliefs of Reggio Emilia’s educational philosophy.
