Karla McCarty

Karla McCarty, EdD, has over 25 years of experience in K-12 education as a chief academic officer, director of district wide programs, school counselor, and teacher. She is passionate about supporting teachers and administrators in improving school culture, SEL, curriculum design, equity, and self-care, and has provided professional development services across the country for nearly 20 years.

A lifelong learner who is passionate about the power of education and the importance of schools in the community, Karla was a 2019 Kentucky Counselor of the Year. She also serves on the Commissioner's Counseling Advisory Council for the Kentucky Department of Education and she is an adjunct professor in graduate and doctoral education administration programs where her teaching scope focuses on educational psychology, leadership, assessment, instructional supervision, strategic planning and educational technology. She was inducted into the Kentucky Women in Educational Leadership Forum in 2020 and she has extensive experience reviewing grants.

She earned a doctorate in educational leadership, a master's degree in counseling, and certification in instructional supervision.
