Kevin Ryan
Kevin Ryan, EdD, serves as assistant superintendent in North Shore 112. Since 2018, he has also been an associate with Solution Tree, presenting on key topics such as professional learning communities, Yes We Can!, standards, assessment, and instruction.
Kevin Ryan
With over 25 years of experience in education, Kevin Ryan, EdD, is a dedicated and passionate leader committed to fostering academic excellence, social-emotional well-being, and community collaboration. As the assistant superintendent for teaching and learning in North Shore School District 112, he leads nine schools, including three dual-language and three Title I schools, and serves nearly 3,900 pre-K–8 students. Under his leadership, the district has achieved its highest NWEA growth in over a decade and its best state assessment scores.
Dr. Ryan has led the successful implementation of the Marzano High Reliability Schools (HRS) framework in his district, with all nine schools achieving HRS certification. Additionally, he established an instructional coaching program that promotes collaboration, instructional strategies, and targeted feedback that aligns to the district’s framework, and his efforts in curriculum development, professional learning, and closing achievement gaps have been central to the district's post-pandemic recovery and ongoing success.
Beyond district leadership, Dr. Ryan has worked extensively with school boards, communities, and educators on initiatives related to staffing, budgeting, infrastructure, and curriculum development. He was honored with Illinois’s Those Who Excel Award and previously led an Apple Distinguished District. Since 2018, Dr. Ryan has served as an associate with Solution Tree, presenting on key topics such as professional learning communities, Yes We Can!, standards, assessment, and instruction. This role has allowed him to share insights and strategies for achieving systemic success in education.
Dr. Ryan holds a doctorate in educational leadership from Illinois State University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from DePaul University, and a bachelor’s in business degree administration from Florida Southern College.
