Laura Kindron Coy

Laura Kindron Coy has served over 25 years in the field of education and is currently the principal of Clarence Lobo Elementary School in San Clemente, California. She has been influential in transitioning her school from one focused on teaching to one based on collaboration through the PLC process to positively impact students in Title I, special education, and general education programs. She has past experience as a Title I GATE teacher, EL instructor, STEM teacher on special assignment, and assistant principal. She is gifted in her ability to build relationships with students and families.

Laura was recognized as the 2012 Teacher of the Year at Robert M. Pyles STEM Academy in Stanton, California. In 2016, she received the Success for English Learners honor for impacting students and their communities by championing the success of English learners. She is a member of the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the Association of California School Administrators.

Laura received her bachelor’s degree with a major in liberal studies from California State University, San Bernardino, and her master’s degree in education from National University. She is a lifelong learner who continually seeks opportunities to grow as a school leader.
